Aside from new characters and refined game balance, Guilty Gear 2 -OVERTURE- 2016 is also brings a host of graphical updates to the table.
The series’ switch to 3D makes this easier to do compared to its sprite-based predecessors.
It’s these changes to the game’s graphics that HurtboxTV explores in their latest video. The changes involve a lot of tweaks to the game’s lighting, including new global lighting that sees characters, projectiles, and certain moves now acting as their own independent light sources. Additionally, the game’s stages have been updated to both better show off the new lighting effects (e.g. the Central Organ Tower stage taking place at sundown) and other effects, such as fireworks.
